Sleep Disorder Laboratory
Samaritan Regional Health System operates the Sleep Disorder
Laboratory, under the medical direction of Laurie Mooney, M.D. and
contracts with SleepMed for professional sleep diagnostic services.
If you've tried tips for getting a good night's sleep and you
want to seek medical attention, ask your doctor to refer you to Dr.
Mooney at the Sleep Lab. The doctor's office can call the number for SleepMed and schedule you for a sleep study. Dr. Mooney will obtain a
medical history and may conduct a physical examination and wish to
talk with your bed partner about your sleeping and waking behavior.
You may be scheduled to spend
one or two nights in the hospital's sleep laboratory where your
brain waves, muscle activity, leg and arm movements, heart rhythms,
and other body functions can be monitored during sleep. With this
information, the physician can prescribe a treatment plan that's
right for you.
