UH Employees Recognized

University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center recently held the second of three employee appreciation events to celebrate individuals and teams.  Winning an individual President’s Award was Materials Management’s Jennifer Dingledine. Dingledine was honored for her unwavering commitment to her job and for going above and beyond by assuming additional responsibilities that include leadership roles with the Safety Council and the Sustainability Committee.

Superior Achievement Awards were presented to Senta Thompson and Noah Gangi. Thompson, previously a floor nurse on the ambulatory surgical medical unit, recently transitioned to the Quality Department to continue quality and improvement efforts that lead to a successful Joint Commission survey. Gangi was tapped for his role in developing and coordinating the Sports Medicine Student Athlete Award program, which also included securing donations for college scholarships.

Gangi, along with Information Technology’s DJ Harbaugh, also received a Spot-On Award for implementing technological advances that supported a live, public demonstration of a new modality of care. Kathie Overy received a Spot-On Award for bringing a patient’s car to the main entrance as the patient wasn’t able to walk to their car. Dan Fischer was thanked with a Spot-On Award for volunteering to take pictures at the Athlete Award program.

Lastly, gratitude was expressed to the following employees for their role in the recent Joint Commission survey: Lisa Bushong, Scott Cox, Heather Crites, Jennette Crumrine, Theresa Edwards, Patti Good, Kim Keating, Chris Klaameyer, Marsha McKee, Caitlin Mauslein, Beth Peden, Kim Price, Kelly Schroeder, Cindy Slarb, Stacy Telakowicz, Jill Welch, Sue Wilder and Brenda Winters.

Additional President’s Awards and Superior Achievement Awards will be presented to staff throughout the year as part of University Hospitals’ efforts to recognize and encourage employee engagement.
