We

In
the past five years, we have accomplished two major renovation
and expansion projects; the most recent was in 2005 when we
opened a beautiful, holistically-designed ambulatory care services
department and an outpatient surgery area, as well as an inviting
Chapel for spiritual needs.
Now
in 2007, we are excited about the construction happening
at Samaritan Professional Park, located at Mifflin and Route 42. A new
medical office called Ashland Medical Center opened in December 2006. It
has integrated office space for several well-known local physicians
and Samaritan's aims-occupational health services and T.W. Miller Health Services, which includes Samaritan Women's Health Services, a lab draw station and x-ray services for the building..
Looking
towards the future, we see a vision for even more growth
on our main campus at Samaritan Hospital. In 2005, Samaritan
Hospital saw the most patients ever in its Emergency Department
(ED). This substantial growth is indicative of our need
for future structural changes and additions to our already
expanded ED.
We
also have future expansion visions for our Birthing Unit and
our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). We hope to afford our
community more spacious birthing rooms for delivery, as well
as postpartum rooms for after-care and family bonding. We
also see a need for an expanded C-section surgical room. It’s
also important, as we address the needs of our aging population
and their families within our community, to add additional
patient rooms to our Critical Care Unit (or ICU).
We
hope that with these additions, we will be able to continue
to strive towards our mission of taking the lead in promoting
the health and wellness of people in the communities which
we serve.
