Samaritan Hospital
1025 Center Street
Ashland, Ohio 44805
Samaritan Hospital, the anchor of Samaritan Regional Health
System (SRHS) is a general, acute-care, inpatient facility that
was given to the city of Ashland in 1912 by Jesse Lewis and Mary
Clark so that "no one need be without medical care."
Clark envisioned "a hospital where no sick person would ever
be refused care," and since that time, Samaritan Hospital,
Ashland County's only hospital, has been fulfilling that mission.
The hospital's commitment to providing quality healthcare to
the community is evident in its mission to take the lead in
promoting the health and wellness of people in the communities we
serve by excelling in ideals of the Good Samaritan. Additionally,
the hospital is recognized by many governmental agencies.
Samaritan is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation
of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) for meeting nationally
recognized healthcare standards. Additionally, Samaritan Hospital
was the first hospital in the nation to be awarded the
Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Star Award
for its exemplarity health and safety program.
With 110 licensed beds and 60 staffed beds, Samaritan Hospital
is the largest facility within SRHS.
