According to the American Diabetes Association, 23.6 million children and adults have diabetes, a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin. Since a diabetics’ quality of life is dictated by important lifestyle choices, such as healthy eating habits, knowledge and awareness is extremely important.

Other local support groups include the Arthritis and Fibromyalgia Support Group, the Breast Cancer Survivor Support Group (known as Women with Hope), and the Cardiac Support Group.
