BLS Description
Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider
This class is mandatory for all clinical employees, and recommended for all employees in health care settings.
The goal of this program is to train and/or retrain staff in Basic Life Support techniques. Certification in BLS is required for all clinical employees and is also required before attending ACLS or PALS classes.
At the end of the BLS class, the participant will be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills related to CPR and obstructed airway through written exam, performance of CPR on manikins according to AHA guidelines, and management of obstructed airway situations according to AHA guidelines.
This course is facilitated by AHA certified BLS instructors.
Fee structure: No charge to Samaritan Regional Health System employees and physicians
$40 = Non-employees
Course books are available for loan or purchase.

Please note: classes often do not last the entire allotted 3 hours but we will not rush through any class - we will take as long as is necessary to assure everyone has the skills needed to save lives.
